Many thanks for AdShield, the combination of its functionality and simplicity is awesome. You must be a really good programmer to come up with a design like this. I now changed from using AtGuard to your AdShield, after about 3 (4?) years with AtGuard. Also I tried an infinite number of both ad blockers and prefetchers. Kinda hobby. AdShield is the best. It's like pink eyeglasses, filtering out all the popping stupidity, greed, and deception that seems to double every few weeks in these times.

I've tried several ad/pop-up blockers, but the best ones always route traffic through their proxies, which I don't like. After trying Ad Shield, and seeing how integrated it is with IE, I'm sold!

I work with computers for a living in the area of security. I test and evaluate software and recommend to people (new to the net) the results of my test. Over the last few months I have tried different software of this type out and they were a major disappointment to me. Well......I have now tested out Adshield and have put it thru its paces....and without a doubt AdShield is one of the best.....if not the BEST....software's of the web today. I'm an avid searcher of the web . . . . I'm always looking for the best freeware programs out there. I believe I've found one of the best in AdShield. My computer at home has AdShield on it, my computer at work has AdShield on it, my computer at school has Adshield on it, my parent's computer has AdShield, my sister's computer has AdShield, and so on. Everyone I can possibly tell about this program has loved it as much as I do. It's SO amazing to use someone else's computer that doesn't have ads blocked and to see all those huge, blinking, annoying ads that at one point, I was so accustomed to. Now, my computer is ad-free, and my Internet experience has become oodles more enjoyable. No more X-cam, or Classmates, or pop-ups, or anything. The web without ads . . . . it's like a dream come true.

I've been using AdShield for a few days now and I think it's fantastic. I tested it along with several other popup blockers, using the hardest tests I could find, which are on http://www.webknacks.com/aptest.htm. AdShield passed all the simple and complex tests (except of course A5, "Black list pitfalls"). and it was the only one that passed test C2; all the others looped and had to be killed. And since I've started using the blocklist and seeing ads just disappear and their space be filled in by the surroundings... well, it's just amazing how well it works.

This is the best software I've seen in a long time. My website is one of those free sites you can get on Hypermart. All those pop-ups drive me nuts. This is the only one I've tried that stops them before they open and stops inline ads.
I read your how it works section. That's genius. Making 0x0 blank images and blank pages. That's awesome. I saw something like this for the MacOS a long long time ago. But never for Windows.
And, that caching feature is awesome.

I’m a network admin and I’ve been using AdShield on every PC I browse the web with. This software is great. The best part is that it is freeware. I really hate how Microsoft decided to recognize special ad-related HTML tags; and of course does not allow you to disable them (or pop-ups in general). Thank you for a great piece of software, I’ve told all my friends already but I promise to tell new ones!

I really like AdShield because it does what it's supposed to, help you block unsolicited garbage like popups and ads on the Internet. The way you do it in AdShield is much easier than other programs because it's tightly integrated into IE as a plugin. It's fast, simple, and it doesn't have a kludgy looking interface like a lot of other programs in this class. Best of all, it's free. I wish more people could make good programs for Windows like AdShield.

I was about to cancel my client work that involved Web research. I've been using pop-up killers for a year, and that helped a lot. But in the past 2 months the Flash ads have become so pervasive and disruptive that I literally started having physical problems - eyestrain and headache. I've been using AdShield for a while now, and its a great program! Integrates with IE, doesn't crash the browser, and blocks ads and popups! Its amazing how well it works -- most of the time, I can't even figure out where the ads were originally supposed to go! They just disappear.
I really appreciate the fact you've made it free software -- its nice to see there are still folks out there writing great apps to give something back to the community and the world at large.
